|At the start of the New Year, you may have set goals for your health, wellness, and financial future. However, ask yourself this question – when was the last time that you set up goals for your oral health? Make this the year that your oral health becomes a priority in your life and work toward making improvements.
Brush and Floss More Regularly
The simplest oral health goal that you can establish for yourself is to try and brush and floss more regularly. You should be brushing at least twice per day and flossing daily. Regular dental care is essential to protect your mouth from decay and gum disease, so this oral health goal could dramatically improve your dental health.
If you want an oral health goal that can offer benefits for your life in other ways, giving up smoking may be one of them. Smoking is incredibly harmful to your oral health. It can increase your risk of gum disease and also dries out your mouth, which may lead to tooth decay. Plus, smoking can stain your teeth, leaving you with an unattractive yellow or brown smile. These are just some of the ways that giving up smoking can prove to be a good goal.
Keep Up with Your Regular Dental Appointments
Has it been awhile since your last dental visit? We recommend that you see us at least once every six months for regular cleanings and evaluations. These appointments are important for preventive dentistry, as they give us a chance to examine the health of your mouth. We can often detect problems when they are in their earliest stages and easier to treat, so you could ultimately save money by keeping up with your appointments.
