All-on-4What Is All-on-4All-on-4 is a relatively new treatment concept developed by Nobel Biocare, one of the leading companies in the implant industry. We also use implants designed by Biomet 3i. Before All-on-4, most full-arch restorations required a minimum of six to eight implants. All-on-4, as the name suggests, only requires four strategically placed implants. The anterior (front) implants are placed at a vertical angle, while the posterior (back) implants are placed at a 35-45 degree angle from the occlusal (bite) plane.
Immediately following your surgery, you will be given a temporary set of prosthetic teeth. By the end osseointegration, most patients will need a stronger, more permanent restoration. All-on-4 restorations are typically made from porcelain or zirconia. These ceramic compounds provide unmatched esthetics and durability. Traditional AlternativesBefore implants, patients who were missing all or most of their teeth had limited options, mostly just dentures. A complete denture is a removable appliance used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth. The appliance consists of acrylic, flesh-colored base and plastic or ceramic teeth. The base then fits over gum tissue that has been stripped of any remaining problematic teeth. Most dentures require some form of adhesives to stay in place. Still, many patients experience embarrassing slips when they chew or speak. Traditional Alternatives Vs. All-on-4There is no doubt that All-on-4 is the ideal solution for patients missing all or most of their teeth. An All-on-4 restoration will look and function just like your natural teeth. Patients who use dentures often complain about discomfort and a restrictive diet. All-on-4 allows you to eat your favorite foods, including hard or sticky ones, with confidence and comfort. All-on-4 also has much better durability than traditional dentures, which need to be replaced every five to seven years. Under the proper care, your All-on-4 restoration could last for several decades. Some patients even experience a lifetime of support. Traditional dentures have to be adjusted at frequent intervals. As time goes on, your gum tissue and underlying bone deteriorate with denture use. All-on-4 provides the physical stimulation your bone needs to avoid deterioration. Not only is this better for your oral health, but it also helps you maintain a more youthful appearance. Schedule a Consultation Appointment Today!Find out if your qualify for All-on-4!
